This storyline has massive emotional stakes, as it combines Rey Mysterio’s iconic career with Andrade’s hunger for dominance, while also passing the torch to Penta "Zero Miedo" as the new lucha icon. The key here is to make this story a journey of legacy, betrayal, and redemption that resonates with the Lucha audience and elevates all three wrestlers. Let’s revise and fully flesh out the arc for maximum emotional impact.
Act 1: Andrade’s Disrespect for Legacy (The Setup)
Andrade cuts a series of scathing promos on Rey Mysterio. He focuses on tearing down Rey's legacy, calling him "a relic of the past" and "the last breath of a dying lucha tradition."
Andrade positions himself as a modern, sophisticated luchador who claims to have "evolved beyond the mask," mocking Rey's adherence to the old ways of lucha libre. He even challenges Rey’s relevance in WWE, saying:
"You are not a hero, Rey. You are a roadblock. And I will tear down every roadblock that stands between me and being the greatest luchador in history."
Key Match: At a televised event (Raw or SmackDown), Andrade humiliates (soft baby-face) Dominik Mysterio in a one-sided match, forcing Rey to come out and confront him. Rey, emotional and enraged, challenges Andrade to a match, which Andrade refuses.
Andrade’s response: "You’re not worth my time, Rey—not anymore. But if you’re so desperate to prove me wrong, I’ll give you what you want… at Backlash. On one condition: if I beat you, you retire."
Rey hesitates but agrees, delivering a heartfelt promo about his career and legacy:
"For nearly three decades, I’ve given my heart and soul to this business, to the fans, to lucha libre. If this is how it ends, then I will give everything I have to protect the honor of what we stand for."

Act 2: Backlash PLE – Rey Mysterio’s Farewell Match
The match is heavily hyped, with video packages showcasing Rey’s legendary career. WWE presents it as a celebration of Rey's legacy while positioning Andrade as the new generation.
During the match, Andrade plays the arrogant heel, taunting Rey throughout. Rey, however, fights like a man possessed, hitting all of his signature moves and coming close to victory multiple times.
The turning point (TP) comes when Rey attempts a 619, but Andrade counters it with a devastating hammerlock DDT. Andrade doesn’t immediately pin Rey—instead, he drags the match out, mocking Rey and the lucha tradition.
Finish: Andrade finally hits a brutal top-rope maneuver (possibly a double-foot stomp onto a prone Rey), decisively pinning him in the center of the ring. The referee raises Andrade’s hand as the crowd sits in stunned silence.
Post-match: Andrade stands over Rey’s motionless body. Then, in an ultimate act of disrespect, Andrade removes Rey’s mask, holding it up like a trophy. The crowd erupts in boos as Andrade gloats, yelling:
"This is your lucha hero? This is your legend? He’s finished!"

Act 3: Penta "Zero Miedo" Arrives (The Save)
As Andrade prepares to deliver a post-match beatdown on Rey, Penta "Zero Miedo"’s music hits. The crowd pops as Penta sprints to the ring and squares off with Andrade. The tension is electric.
Penta checks on Rey briefly before grabbing a microphone. He gets right in Andrade’s face and, in Spanish, delivers a fiery challenge:
"¡Andrade! ¡Esto no ha terminado! Tú y yo… ¡LUCHA DEATHMATCH!"
("Andrade! This isn’t over! You and me… LUCHA DEATHMATCH!")
Penta’s passionate defense of Rey sets up the next chapter, as he positions himself as the defender of lucha libre’s honor and Rey’s legacy. Andrade smirks and retreats, but the challenge is clearly accepted.
Act 4: Penta vs. Andrade (The Series of Matches)

Match #1: Standard Singles Match
The first bout ends in chaos, with Andrade using underhanded tactics to win (e.g., a low blow while the referee is distracted). Penta doesn’t take the loss quietly and demands another match.
Andrade, in promos, continues his campaign of disrespect:
"Rey was the past, and now you want to be the future? You’re just another pretender hiding behind a mask. I’ll destroy you just like I destroyed him."
Match #2: No Disqualification Match
This match sees Penta unleash his violent, sadistic side, showing the WWE audience his signature Zero Miedo (no fear) attitude. However, Andrade narrowly escapes with a win after targeting Penta’s knee, setting up the next stage of the feud.
Final Match: Lucha Deathmatch (PLE)
The feud culminates in an intensely violent Lucha Deathmatch at a major PLE (e.g., WrestleMania, SummerSlam).
This match serves as a showcase of everything lucha libre represents high-flying moves, brutal strikes, and incredible storytelling. Penta fights not only for his own pride but to avenge Rey and uphold lucha libre’s honor.
Key Moment: Penta performs a dramatic callback to Rey by executing a 619 on Andrade, honoring the man who passed the torch to him.
Finish: Penta finally defeats Andrade after hitting his devastating Fear Factor piledriver onto a pile of chairs. He pins Andrade clean, solidifying himself as the rightful heir to Rey’s legacy.
Epilogue: The Rise of Penta "Zero Miedo"
After the match, Rey comes in the ring along with his LWO members and cuts a fiery promo, declaring Penta as "the new face of lucha libre" in WWE. Handing the mic to Penta as he vows to continue Rey’s legacy while forging his own path:
"Lucha libre is not dead—it’s stronger than ever. And we are the proof!"
This feud positions Penta as not only a top-tier talent but also as the new lucha legend for WWE, fully replacing Rey Mysterio in the eyes of the audience. Meanwhile, Andrade remains a vicious heel, still credible due to his wins over Rey and the brutal nature of the matches with Penta.
The tease: Other LWO members have raised eyebrows as this public displayed of “passing the torch” and skipping the others that have put in their time. Teasing potential matchups between Penta and other LWO members, and perhaps a tag match with LWO vs Penta and a partner of his choosing (Rey Fenix).
Penta and Fenix go on a tag team soar and capture the tag team titles at a big PLE like WrestleMania or SummerSlam. Legitimizing their partnership and becoming the best team in all of WWE.
Why This Storyline Works

Emotional Stakes: Rey Mysterio’s retirement and mask removal is one of the most shocking and emotional moments possible, creating instant buzz.
Torch Passing: Penta stepping in to avenge Rey gives fans a clear successor to cheer for, ensuring lucha libre’s legacy continues in WWE.
Elevating Andrade: Andrade’s victory over Rey solidifies him as a top heel, while his feud with Penta cements his role as a legitimate star.
Fresh Matchups: This storyline introduces Penta to the broader WWE audience and opens doors for him to feud with other top stars after this arc.
Championships: Penta can have both a succesful singles career and conquer the tag division with his brother Fenix. Which will be a multi-layered storyline with new rivals and theres always the possibility of betrayal.
